INBOUND LOGISTICS OFFICER

Our client, a leading manufacturing company is looking for an experienced person to fill the role of an INBOUND LOGISTICS OFFICER to assist with the business’s operations.

ROLE PROFILE

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating all inbound logistics activities, including receiving and managing raw materials between the plant and approved areas, while ensuring compliance with safety standards and optimizing operational efficiency. He or she will perform the following duties as well:

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure accurate measurements for all incoming and outgoing trucks through effective management of the plant weighbridges.
  • Monitor the performance of weighbridge equipment and promptly report any anomalies to the Line Manager and the maintenance team for rectification.
  • Maintain a detailed log of all trucks from the plant, recording information such as the quantity of product, arrival/departure time, name of driver, truck details, and weight for accurate traceability.
  • Record the receipt of inbound materials, including raw materials and packaging materials, and ensure proper documentation.
  • Ensure that all plant logistics activities related to inbound drivers comply with the company’s Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards.
  • Prepare and share daily and weekly raw material reports as required to support effective material inventory management.
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Line Manager from time to time, as necessary to support departmental and organisational objectives.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of an HND in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or any other related field.
  • A minimum of one (1) year experience with inbound logistics and weighbridge management or a similar inbound logistics role, preferably in the cement manufacturing industry.

  • Must possess strong organizational, intrapersonal and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be detail-oriented and possess a positive and enthusiastic spirit.
  • Ability to be well-organized and diligent.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Possess good data-gathering and analysis skills.
  • Ability to manage and organize work schedules according to changing demands
  • Must be able to prioritize and manage tasks with flexible timing requirements effectively.
  • Must be familiar with Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Standards and Compliance.
